Update your existing WordPress site to the latest software today! For $99 we will do the update for you and ensure that your blog continues to work, including any themes and plugins.

WordPress is excellent software. It is clean, well written, and well supported. The integration of plugins and themes have allowed it to flourish. The developers have also done a great job of making updates as easy as they can be.

But updating software is often fraught with dangers, and web software can be particularly tricky. Will the new software try to use a feature your web host doesn’t support? Plugins and themes can complicate matters. Some are well-behaved and will handle a WordPress update easily. Others have made non-standard changes which get wiped out in the update and need to be re-applied afterward.

Why update?

Because of these issues, or rather fear of these issues, many WordPress sites go without updates for months or years. The problem is that there are bad guys out there with a lot more time on their hands than you. They are constantly looking for ways to exploit software security holes. Since WordPress is so widely used, it presents a big target. The summer of 2009 has been particularly bad, with multiple security updates released.

The WordPress developers have been very good at plugging holes quickly. But it does you no good if your site is still running old software with holes in it.

Can’t I update it myself?

Sure! The WordPress folks have an excellent guide to updating. If those instructions make sense to you then have at it.

However, if it’s all senseless techno-speak to you, then pay us $99 to update your WordPress blog for you.
